EPIC ADVENTURE Part 2 - Cycling from China to Thailand!!!

For those just tuning in: After 4 years in China, most of which were spent living on top of Moganshan Mountain, we are finally ready to go home. Before we go, we thought we'd take one more look around Asia in case we never come back – we are calling this the "Epic Adventure" although it's probably much less epic than what you have done.

The first part of this Epic Adventure was to travel by land from Xinjiang to Sichuan, sampling the food and visiting many minorities along the way. Despite the cold, it was an amazing experience! We saw and tasted things you would never get anywhere else. If you want to read about our journey, check out earlier postings.

The second part of our Epic Adventure has just begun! Our plan is to cycle from Southern China to Thailand via Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. With all the mountain and unpaved roads along the way, we were VERY lucky to be supplied with some great gear. Thomas Lecoq at Specialized in Pudong, along with his suppliers Topeak, have leant and shipped to us a Rockhopper and a Hardrock as well as some fine trunk bags. We owe the possibility of this trip to them and thank them greatly! check out www.s-riders.com for exclusive updates and pictures.

We just picked up the bikes in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province in Southern China where Shark Li has just opened a new Specialized dealership (congrats and good luck to Shark!). After a few last minute preparations and goodbyes, we will start our journey on February 1st … just in time for Chinese New Year.
